How Do We Get Sun Damage

We love to take advantage of Australia near perfect & warm climate. Although the weather is full of sunshine, it has some harsh factors towards our skin. Being constantly exposed to harsh sun conditions we are more prone to sun damage. Luckily – Laser Image Specialist have several treatments available to treat any damage your skin may have such as sun spots, pigmentation and premature ageing.

  • The Effects of Sun Damage: One of the most common skin conditions we see in a lot of our patients is Sunspots. They are the result of excess production of melanin, or skin pigment, which, in turn, causes dark spots and patches on your skin. Excessive sun exposure, hormonal imbalances and your specific genes affect the severity of these blemishes which can range from minor to more severe. These spots show up on areas of your skin where melanin-producing cells are damaged or failing, either due to sun damage or the natural process of ageing. The first appearance of an age spot can often be a subtle blemish in the skin or some unusual redness.
  • Age Spots: Age spots are flat, brown, grey, or black spots on the skin. They usually occur on sun-exposed areas of the skin. These Doctors don’t always know why these spots develop. Skin ageing, sun exposure, or other forms of ultraviolet (UV) light exposure, such as tanning beds, are all possible causes. You’re most likely to develop age spots on the areas of your skin that receive the most sun exposure. Your skin type and the severity of your problem will indicate which treatment is best for you. Book in for a free skin consultation with our professional skin Therapists, they will profile your skin and determine the best course of treatments for your skin.

Whats Our Method

Whats Our Method?

To combat all the damage our Australian sun throws at us – we have implemented Light therapy technology where intense light gently penetrates your skin. This light is attracted to darker pigments present in age spots, pigmentation and broken capillaries. By creating heat, the pulses of intense light will break up and scatter the pigment. This causes the pigmentation to shrink, and in some cases disappear. The heat also promotes and boosts your natural production of collagen and elastin giving you firmer younger-looking skin.

Results have shown that our patients that 60% – 85% clear’s up in the first few treatments, which of course will vary on how mild or moderate the damage is.
